Flower: Deep purple, terminal spikes

Foliage: Gray-green narrow leaves
Fragrance: Strongly but sweetly fragrant, fresh, and floral-herbaceous with woody undertones
Sun: Full sun
Soil: Well-drained, sandy-gravelly, alkaline
Water: Dry-medium
Tolerant: Drought, heat, wind, deer
Garden Uses: Great in container, herb garden, rock gardens, fragrance garden, borders
Medicinal Uses: Preferred lavender variety for therapeutic and medicinal use
Other Uses: Dried flowers are used in potpourris and sachets; oils are used in creams, soaps, shampoos and natural perfumes
Attracts: Bees,  butterflies
Harvesting: For cooking, sachets & potpourris, cut flower spikes or strip flowers from stems just as blossoms show color; dry in a cool, shaded place.  Leaves can be stripped & used fresh or dried.  essential oils are extracted via steam distillation
